Father-of-three sets His 3-year-old Daughter on Fire Because ‘She Was Too Beautiful’

He told his neighbor that they are his children and he can do anything he wants with them.

A 43-year-old father-of-three from Perth, Australia was charged with attempted murder and attempted assault after pouring gasoline over her two daughters before setting them on fire.

According to reports, Edward Herbert was drinking and smoking cannabis in their home the entire day, and was high and drunk when his rampage started. He first poured gasoline over her three-year-old daughter and set her on fire. He then began pouring gasoline on his 7-year-old daughter as well.

The 3-year-old unnamed daughter was left with severe burns to her face and upper body, that it required surgery and laser scar management.

According to the court: Herbert told his wife that ‘the werewolf is coming at 12pm’ and ‘that’s it b***h, I am going to kill you’ to his daughter before getting gasoline and entering her room.

It was until the family’s neighbor Daniel McMillan arrived shortly after and found Mr Herbert in the kitchen drinking beer, that the girls were rescued immediately. Herbert told McMillan that they were his daughters, and that he can do whatever he wants to them. He also reasoned out that he burned them because his daughter was ‘too beautiful’.

He is accused of two counts of doing an act with intent to unlawfully kill, threatening to kill his partner, being armed with a knife in circumstances likely to cause fear and doing an act likely to endanger life with intent to harm.

Herbert admits to burning his child, but claims he wasn’t in the right mind when he did that. He pleaded not guilty.
